Aloha, I am Kenji Mizoguchi, President of Nokaheke Adventures.
Nokaheke Adventures was founded by my late Hawaiian best friend, Kauhane. Nokaheke is a Hawaiian word meaning “the best and the only”. Kauhane always says, “Our Hawaii is not a museum, we are still alive, so we want people to know the real Hawaii!
Molokai and was one of those Hawaiians whose kuleana (mission and responsibility) is to preserve Hawaiian culture and pass it on to the next generation.
His face was tattooed with the teeth of Eel, the guardian deity of the Aumakua family, and his seemingly strong but charming and humorous personality always made everyone around him laugh, and although he was dynamic and mischievous, he was loved by everyone.
Kauhane used to look up at the sky and talk to his ancestors when he was still with us.I started looking up at the sky more often, because I felt like he was always watching me from the sky.
I hope to continue to share my time with the ohana (friends) he connected me with, to actually experience the wilderness of Hawaii, to connect with the people who live here, and to learn about the real Hawaii from its history and culture.
My Mr. Hawaiian.
